Raw Emotion Podcast: 0-for-4 at The Blessing

It’s our favorite week of any Bachelor season: Hometowns, where the fathers are mustacheoed and The Blessing is on the line.  We discuss each Hometown date and the enormous ramifications of Sean’s decision to send Des home.  It’s the Raw Emotion Podcast.

  1. Finesse, brilliant point on Des’s hometown and how Sean thanked her family for ‘traveling’ for it. I too found that odd at the time, but decided to overlook it. However, I think you are 100% spot on –> the show definitely got Des’s family a fake house to stage the hometown.

Did you guys notice that during Katherine’s hometown, each of her sisters looked less asian than the next? Katherine is the legit asian, while her older sister appears to be half, and her younger sister looks like a full-on gringo. I wonder if there is more to the story of Katherine’s estranged father(s)?

    • Thanks for listening, and thanks for the comment. You wonder if there is more to the story about Catherine’s father … if so, wouldn’t she have wanted to bring that up around the same time she was telling the story about the tree falling on her friend?

  3. I believe it was Des’s house, not her family’s — so it may have been that her parents’ house was unsuitable for hosting a dinner, but she did mention that all the art on the wall was hers, etc., and that it was her own home, and that she was having everyone over.

There have been a few hometowns on both Bachelor and Bachelorette in which the main event (dinner or the main family gathering) took place in the hometown host’s house, or at least when the couple stopped by the hometown host’s house for a quick tour. Sometimes it as because the parents didn’t want to be involved, and sometimes the host decided to go to his or her current home city rather than where he or she grew up.
